• We are your Guiding Light.

    Sharing the gospel. Making Connections.

  • What we do

Churches Together in Keswick and Neighbourhood brings together members of the Christian Churches across the area, who have joined together to forward God's mission. We are a reference point for the church, for communication, the sharing of resources and ideas to hold us together. Our constitution is available here.

Please find details of our Toys for Christmas events (5 and 12 December) in the Events Calendar at the bottom of this page.

    Closure of Church Buildings

Church buildings in Keswick and neighbourhood are currently closed for public worship in line with Government regulations. However the church hasn't closed and most churches are continuing with their existing online offering which can be accessed by their websites. A number of churches remain open for private individual prayer. We hope that church buildings can be reopened for public worship on 6 December 2020.

    Our response to COVID-19

Many of us will already by praying about the coronavirus situation in our nation and locality. Please consider setting aside some time aside each day to pray for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pray for God’s healing and comfort for those who have coronavirus and their families

Pray for God’s peace for those who are anxious especially the vulnerable and children

Pray for God’s presence and companionship to be with those in care homes and alone at home

Pray for God’s wisdom and good decision making for those in Government and their advisers

Pray for God’s compassion and strength for all those working in our health and care services

Pray for God’s provision and wisdom for those with affected businesses

Pray for God's presence in our schools and help for teachers and students

Pray for God’s mercy that the pandemic would come to an end

    Give thanks to God…

For those working in our health and care services

For those volunteering in local communities to support and care for those staying at home

For those contributing and volunteering in food banks

    For those working in education

For businesses who are adapting and supporting their local community

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

Suggested prayers are also available on the Church of England website

    Toys for Christmas

Toys for Christmas - giving good quality pre-loved toys and books as gifts to those who can enjoy them afresh.

Plans are now finalised for the Toys for Christmas event with the collection of gifts on 5 December now being 1:30-4:30pm (rather than 3-6pm) at Crosthwaite Parish Room, and the giving of gifts on 12 December 10am-3pm at the same venue.

    How can I pray?

    · Thank God that we are able to go ahead, for sufficient volunteers, and the generosity of those who have already given gifts

    · Please continue to pray that those families who will benefit will get to hear about it and come along on the 12th

    How can I help?

    · Please continue to find good quality pre-loved toys and books suitable for children 10 and under, along with Christmas edibles (sweets, biscuits etc) that we will offer as gifts to those who come – and encourage your friends and families to do so as well.

    · If you know any families who think would benefit, please do encourage them to come along and please publicise the event via social media

    · If you can display a poster please let Susi or Keith know.

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Many Christians around the world suffer for their faith daily. They are treated less favourably by authorities, punished for crimes they did not commit & struggle to meet for worship - if at all possible.

The Bible calls us to pray for our Brothers & Sisters in faith (Hebrews 13:3), to remember them & to provide as we are able.

This Sunday, 15th Nov 2020 is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church - so please visit the websites below, get informed & pray !

You would also be welcome to join with others at this Sunday's IDOP service led by Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Open Doors, Release International & Evangelical Alliance - please register via this link

There will be speakers from Africa, China & India - hope to see you there.

Financial gifts are also welcome to help with Advocacy costs & writing letters year round which is of great encouragement to those who receive.

If you would like a local contact, Anne B is an Ambassador for CSW in Keswick - you can contact her here
